The leadership team is currently made up of four elders, who serve the church together alongside others on staff, deacons and pastoral care coordinators.
The elders are responsible for the shepherding of the members of Limes Avenue Baptist Church and overseeing its ministries.
The elders would love to meet you and answer any questions who might have. They are normally available on Sundays after the service or you can contact the office (see Contact us page).
Meet Our Leadership Team
Matt worked as a secondary school teacher for ten years before training at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield Illinois, followed by two years as pastor in training at Emmanuel Church, Leamington Spa. He became assistant pastor at Limes Avenue in 2015 and transitioned to be the senior pastor in 2017. Matt is married to Chrisi and they have three children. He is an enthusiast for good coffee, good books and good football.
Before coming to Limes Avenue Tom trained and worked for over three years at a private early years setting in Bedfordshire. He first came to LABC in September 2012 as a ministry trainee and since then has become the Assistant Pastor. Tom studied at London Seminary during his time at the church, and is currently involved in chairing the Pre-school committee and leading the church’s schools ministry. Tom, his wife and two young children enjoy working on their allotment. In his spare time, Tom enjoys hitting the gym, drinking Espresso and reading anything by J.R.R Tolkien.
When Paul and Penny married, they settled in Aylesbury and happily sought to serve the Lord through Limes Avenue. With the support and encouragement from the church members, they grew in their faith and were entrusted to take on roles of ever-increasing responsibilities. Paul became an elder in 1992. They have three children who came to know the Lord, loved coming to church – where they had many friends – and now are themselves married to believers and are raising their children to follow Jesus. (They have eleven grandchildren!) Paul and Penny’s work in the church, the raising of children and their employment as teachers, left them with very little time for hobbies. However, now they are retired, Penny has been able to give more time to her garden, while Paul enjoys reading and dabbling with computers.
God has used things Keith has learned as a teacher, civil servant, IT project manager and finally office manager in the best job ever: in an organisation called 100Fold supporting missionaries with IT. Sarah is a great support and help to Keith in all he does. We have 3 sons, 2 fantastic daughters-in-law and 1 amazing grandchild. Keith is a tinkerer, enjoying process and order in such things as handicrafts and putting together a good plan or setting up a training programme. He also likes the disorder of childminding and children.
